I-40/Canada Road Interchange

Project includes preliminary, right of way, and construction plans for modifications of the existing I-40/Canada Road interchange located in a fast growing suburban area of metropolitan Memphis. Allen & Hoshall is responsible for field surveys, design, and preparation of plans.

The project is a single point urban interchange (SPUI) design accommodating I-40 and widened Canada Road traffic movements. Includes new entrance/exit ramps, new structure carrying Canada Road over I-40, utility relocations and enhancements, signage, marking, lighting, drainage, safety items, and related improvements.

The project includes widening Canada Road to 6-lanes for .612 miles, widening I-40 to accommodate 8-lanes for .413 miles, a 460 ft. access road, and a 1,280 ft. frontage road to allow the required interchange clearance (FHWA). In addition to the primary interchange, there is a signalized intersection at Beverly Riveria and Canada Road.
